Singing and Strumming Workshop at Creative Vacances, La Moreau France 20-26 May 2012

Diane Ponzio travels all over the world doing concerts and teaching singing and strumming workshops. We are delighted that she has agreed to do a week long workshop here at La Moreau.
This course is ideal for anyone who loves to sing or would love to learn to sing while accompanying themselves on the guitar
The week will be extremely relaxed with the emphasis on singing in groups – safety in numbers!!
Singing
There will be daily singing lessons and an introduction to solfegge,
which is the easiest way of understanding music theory using the «
do- re mi » method,
You will :
- learn how to relax and let go of tension when singing
- learn how to breath effectively to enable you to sing easier
- start to learn to sing accurately – you will share aspects of
music theory as it applies to chords, melody and harmony - develop confidence in vocalizing, which will enable you to sing in diverse styles
- learn to sing and play at the same time as well as harmonize,
- gain confidence and increase self expression
Guitar Playing
The guitar sessions will be one day devoted to left hand playing
technique to augment chord knowledge and one day devoted to right
hand technique to broaden your guitar playing skills,
- You will learn how to balance guitar playing with singing
- shown how to choose chords to accompany songs
- shown performance techniques and tips,
- Encouraged to develop an individual style of your own
There will be plenty of time for individual and group practise and Diane will of course be available for advice.
Diane will also offer as an option:
- a session on songwriting
- a ukele session- so bring one along if you want to join in,
